About

A famous adventurer, called by some a Warrior of Light. She is known to be of Ala Mhigan descent, but has lived in Ul'dah most of her life.

Allies

Openly pledged to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and a Captain of the Immortal Flames. She's done other things over the years, and may be known from somewhere else.

Appearance

Standing at five fulms, four ilms, X'shasi is on the taller side for a Seeker. Perhaps her most striking feature is her eyes, which are a brilliant blue similar to the shade of aetheryte crystal—or indeed the selfsame color as the Mothercrystal, to those who have been in the presence. Her hair is a light silver-grey color, though the tips of her ears and tail are white. She bears the usual clan markings, ruddy in color against her pale skin. On her left cheek there is a straight, clean scar. Her build is lithe and trim, like much of her race, though the broadness of her shoulders and back and the definition of her arms betrays uncommon upper-body strength. She seems to prefer knee-high boots and thick, thigh-high stockings. Her garb favors mobility over durability—even in armor it’s lighter than one might expect. She usually carries one of two blades—a light, filigreed foil with red enamel detailing around the basket and a matching arcane focus that betrays a facility with red magic, or else an undecorated slab of steel with a leather-wrapped handle worn smooth with use above the sturdy crossguard. It’s almost as long as she is tall, and demands the use of both hands, so she bears no shield.Shasi is heavily laden with jewelry, and its appearance seldom changes. She wears a pair of earrings with rounded amethyst cabochons, and molded to the curve of the violet stones are gryphons of silver bearing blades of turquoise—the heraldic charge of Ala Mhigo. Her right ear is pierced a second time, and she wears a silver hoop with a pendant blue crystal—the same color as her eyes. On her right index finger, she wears a silver signet ring set with an onyx stone. It is graven with the device of a unicorn, and the stone seems a bit overlarge for her hands, as though she had to size the band down. On the ring finger of that same hand is a band of heavy gold, hammered to fit around an opaque shard of what looks like milky violet glass. Her posture is one of readiness, ears perked and alert. She has a confident, graceful stride, and her expression is patient and thoughtful. It takes a careful examination to note the tiredness in her eyes.

About

X’shasi’s particular sect of the Lynx tribe lived in the mountains of Gyr Abania, not far from Nyunkrepf’s Hope. However, after the protracted civil war in Ala Mhigo and the encroachment of the XIV Legion of Garlemald, most of the tribe chose to flee into Eorzea, including X’shakkal Halha, who brought her young daughter Shasi with her. Most of those who stayed behind were monks or Crimson Duelists, who chose to support the efforts of the Ala Mhigan Resistance. X’shakkal had also learned the arts of the red mage, and began to instruct Shasi in the philosophy of the Crimson Duelists when the pair settled in Ul’dah, forsaking the tribe. They had lived in Ul’dah for five years when a goobue happened to break loose at a parade. Both were luckily unharmed, a fact which Shasi attributed to the protective charms of the Velodyna Cosmos flower she’d been given. She began her training with the sword a short while later, and by her thirteenth summer had entered an apprenticeship with Eshtaime’s Aesthetics to learn lapidary. Her experience with gemcraft allowed her to cut her own focusing crystals, crafting them to her specific needs as a developing red mage.Shasi became an adventurer at the age of six-and-ten summers, making a name for herself as X’shasi Silverhair, though most of her work was the occasional odd job around Thanalan. When she was nineteen, with tensions mounting and the red moon hanging swollen in the sky, the Grand Companies of Eorzea were formed, and X’shasi and X’shakkal enlisted together. They were sent to Carteneau to hold off the advance of the VII Legion. X’shakkal died trying to cover the retreat of the foreign levy after a desperate bid to stop the falling moon failed, and X’shasi was left alone to witness the coming of Bahamut and the Seventh Umbral Calamity.Shaken by her mother’s death and the destruction she had witnessed, X’shasi sought the tribe her mother had forsaken, and found them in the mountains ringing the Sagolii. The decision to head there did not sit well with Shasi’s girlfriend at the time, and they parted ways, though not acrimoniously. Still, her sacrifice seemed for naught—the culture of the tribe seemed to have changed after leaving Gyr Abania. Her alleged father, a nuhn named X’khilo, ascribed to a might-makes-right philosophy that particularly rankled with Shasi. In the end, the demands of tribal life—among them the obligation to give herself to another nunh and bear the next generation—did not sit easy upon X’shasi’s shoulders, and she returned to Ul’dah and to the Immortal Flames. She was with them still when they liaised with an Archon of Sharlayan to investigate the disappearances of people in Camp Drybone. Thancred Waters left quite the impression on the twenty-four year old X’shasi, though not half so much as the primal Ifrit, who tempered the entirety of X’shasi’s squad, captured after a betrayal that delivered them into the hands of the enemy. When she emerged victorious from the Bowl of Embers, they began to call her the Kilntreader. The rest is a matter of record—or, at the very least, of songs.
